Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Dubai. Set sail on the Queen Mary 2 visiting Aqaba Jordan, Suez, Limassol Cyprus, Naples and Rome Italy, Barcelona and Cadiz Spain.
This year is our Golden wedding anniversary (July 29th) and this adventure was booked well over a year ago as a part of the celebrations. We are getting excited now, packing well on the way, tickets have arrived and it all begins on the 10th April 2018 when we fly on BA257 from Heathrow Airport to New Delhi, scheduled to leave at 19.25 arriving into Delhi at 08.20 on the 11th April.
Our flight was slightly behind schedule leaving Heathrow.
However it landed on schedule in Delhi. Loved the display on the arrivals board in Delhi Airport of destinations, always wanted to go to Kathmandu!
Our flight on a Boeing 777 wasn't the best unfortunately, even though we upgraded to Premium Economy our seats on the front row were not the best in terms of comfort and as it was a group booking we were unable to book specific seats in advance, we were allocated centre aisle seats, a configuration of 4 seats and we took two on the right hand side facing forward. However, the time seemed to pass quite quickly. It was an overnight flight and therefore essentially a nights sleep lost!
We were met at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by our guide Abi, who we discovered would stay with us for the duration of our Golden Triangle tour. As there were over 100 people in total on this tour we were split into different colour coded groups, we were the Green group.
INDIA - the largest democracy in the world, 1.4 billion people! Delhi has a population of 19.5 million people.
